Anaesthetic Gases & Solvents
Glue and Aerosol Sniffing
  • Very little is known about the long term effects of sniffing substances such as glue, aerosols and petrol.

  • Abuse of these substances has been known to cause death.

Effects During Pregnancy
  • Inhaling glues and aerosols during pregnancy can harm the baby.

  • The most likely result will be early labour, a premature baby, and the associated breathing problems and risk of infection.
What You Con Do
  • If you are pregnant and having problems reducing or stopping your use of aerosols talk to an alcohol and drug counselling service, or your doctor or midwife.
