The ADF convened the first Drugs & Young People conference (DYP) in 1998 and periodically ever since. The intent is to provide people working in the fields of youth, drugs, health, education, law enforcement, justice etc., with access to evidence-based theory and practice in alcohol and other drug prevention, treatment and policy.

Over 400 delegates from around Australia and the wider world attended the 5th International Conference on Drugs and Young People held in Randwick, New South Wales from the 24 – 26 May 2006.
