About the role

Reporting to the Queensland State Manager, you will work very autonomously and be responsible for the management and delivery of the Good Sports program in the North Queensland region.

This includes:
- Developing strategic partnerships with local government, regional sporting organisations, QLD Police and community groups
- Recruiting, leading and managing the performance of your project team
- Expand the Good Sports program by establishing new relationships with sporting clubs
- Contribution to and management of the state Good Sports marketing strategy

About you

As the successful candidate, you must live our value, demonstrate experience in leading regional health promotion/sports programs and show an ability to work autonomously.

You will also:
- Be tertiary qualified in Health Promotion or a related discipline and hold a valid QLD working with children check ‘blue card’
- Demonstrate experience in and a passion for people leadership
- Demonstrate business development expertise and experience
- Be results driven and promote effective team work

Good Sports Program Development (Indigenous)

Flexible Role

The Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) is an independent, not for profit organisation working to prevent alcohol and other drug problems in communities around the nation. 

We are currently looking for an individual or organisation in the Alice Springs area to adapt our Good Sports program to ensure it is relevant to remote and dry communities in the Northern Territory.

Good Sports is a national initiative of the ADF that aims to develop safer and healthier communities.  It is a free program which helps sporting clubs change their culture to become more focused on young people and families and less on drinking alcohol.   For more information about Good Sports visit www.goodsports.com.au

We are looking for an application from individuals or organisations interested in undertaking program development work and are able to demonstrate success in the following key areas:

• Community development work
• Working with remote communities
• Indigenous health and wellbeing
• Alcohol and related health issues
• Community sport and sporting clubs
• Conducting research and developing programs

This is a fixed term contract and will be based in Alice Springs and surrounding area.
